Excellence in Teaching: WENDY CROCKER
It is our pleasure to announce Wendy Crocker has been awarded the Angela Armitt Award for Excellence in Teaching by Part-Time Faculty.
Wendy is a member of Western's Teaching Support Centre and has hosted curriculum design workshops for countless departments and faculties. She has recently taken on the role of Course Development Coordinator for ASPIRE. Wendy is described by her students as a fantastic educator who has the ability to engage, inspire and empower her students. Her long-lasting impact on the faculty and its student body includes the design and implementation of a fully online graduate program – the Masters of Professional Education, and the creation ofthe Western Active Learning Space, a state-of-the-art learning space that benefits students and faculty from nearly all disciplines on campus.
Congratulations to Wendy on a well-deserved recognition of her contributions to ASPIRE and Western!
2017 Women of Excellence Honouree: MARY INTVEN-WALLACE
The YMCA of Western Ontario has announced the 8 honourees being recognized as the 2017 Women of Excellence, among them Mary Intven-Wallace, in the area of Arts, Culture, Education & Training.
Mary is a long-time instructor for Western Additional Qualifications in Visual Arts and is consistently recognized as an excellent, supportive facilitator, providing her students with a rich, stimulating online classroom experience. She is also an acclaimed artist and a talented author of 16 children's books.
The YMCA Women of Excellence will be honoured on May 17. 'Through their many achievements, each honouree has assisted in creating a more vibrant community. They have pursued their dreams through dedicated advocacy, development of professional skills and various forms of generosity. Their accomplishments have inspired and motivated others to succeed.' Congratulations, Mary!
