Qualifications for Instructors
Required Experience
- Master’s degree or Specialist Qualification in the subject area or equivalent
- OCT member in good standing
- Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles
- Minimum of 5 years of working with Ontario Curriculum at the board or system level
- Knowledge of current educational research and technological trends
- Strong organizational, time management, and written communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience teaching in an online learning environment
- Experience with a Learning Management System
- An understanding of Westerns’ priorities of equity, diversity, and social justice

Your role in working for ASPirE would be as an active instructor and educator. Just as you would in an on-site classroom setting, your engagement, input, and voice enrich the learning experience for candidates. We hire ASPirE instructors because of their subject expertise and experiences in and out of the classroom. Our instructors are what make Western’s Additional Qualification courses such a rich and valuable learning experience.
Currently, we are not recruiting for any specific subject areas. However, should you wish to submit your information, it will be kept on file for three (3) years for consideration of any future opportunities.
Qualifications for Course Writers
Required Experience
- Master’s Degree or Specialist Qualification in the subject area or equivalent
- OCT membership in good standing
- Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles
- Minimum of 5 years of working with Ontario Curriculum at the board or system level
- Knowledge of current educational research and technological trends
- Demonstrated leadership and previous curriculum writing experience
- Strong organizational, time management, and written communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience teaching in an online learning environment
- Working knowledge of a Learning Management System
- An understanding of Westerns’ priorities of equity, diversity, and social justice
